William Morris KS1 and KS2 (arts)

Six block‑printed portraits arranged in a grid, five showing a stylised bearded face in purple or black ink and one showing a simpler figure with a striped shirt.
Art

Children learn about William Morris’s motifs and patterns, creating their own repeating pattern artwork.

In this workshop, children will start with an introduction to William Morris followed by an exploration of some of his work, including motifs and patterns and how they are used. They will then create their own motif taking inspiration from William Morris’s work, make a print block from their motif design and finally use their print block to produce a repeating pattern artwork.
